Bed bugs have nothing to do with how clean your home is. They hitchhike in suitcases from hotels, on used furniture, in moving boxes and even from a sleepover. With DFW Airport, college students coming home and plenty of travel for work, we see them in every kind of home across Collin County. The sooner you act, the easier they are to get rid of. Around the Block is a family-owned, Christian-owned company, and we handle bed bug calls quietly and respectfully. Unmarked visits are available on request.

Signs of bed bugs

Itchy bites in a line or cluster, often on arms, neck or legs, that show up after sleeping
Tiny rust-colored or black spots on sheets, mattress seams or the box spring
Small, flat, apple-seed-sized reddish-brown bugs in mattress seams, headboards or bed frames
Pale shed skins and tiny white eggs in seams and crevices
A sweet, musty odor in heavy infestations
How we treat bed bugs
Thorough inspection. We check mattresses, box springs, bed frames, headboards, nightstands, couches and nearby outlets and baseboards to see how far they've spread.
A prep list for you. We give you a clear checklist: what to wash and dry on the hottest dryer setting, what to bag and what to leave in place, so the treatment works the first time.
Chemical treatment of every hiding spot. We apply targeted treatments to seams, frames, furniture joints, cracks and baseboards in affected rooms and nearby rooms they may have reached.
A follow-up visit. Bed bug eggs can hatch after the first treatment, so one follow-up visit is part of the service. We inspect again and treat anything new.
Prevention advice for travel, college move-ins and used furniture.
What to do right now

Don't move to the couch or another bedroom. Bed bugs follow you and spread.
Don't throw out the mattress yet. It's often treatable, and dragging it through the house spreads bugs.
Don't use foggers or bug bombs. They scatter bed bugs into walls and other rooms.
Wash bedding and clothes on hot and run them through the dryer on its hottest setting for at least 30 minutes.
Vacuum seams and around the bed, then seal the vacuum bag in plastic and throw it out.

Travel and move-in tips
In hotels, check mattress seams and headboards before you unpack, and keep luggage on the rack, not the bed.
When you get home, unpack straight into the washer, then use the dryer's hottest setting.
Inspect used furniture, especially upholstered pieces and bed frames, before it comes inside.
Students moving home from dorms: wash and dry everything before it goes into the bedroom.
Bed bug control FAQ
Do bed bugs spread disease?
They're not known to spread disease, but bites can itch badly, and an infestation can cost a lot of sleep and stress.
How long does it take to get rid of bed bugs?
Our service is the initial treatment plus one follow-up visit, because eggs can hatch after the first treatment. Following the prep list makes a big difference.
Do I need to throw out my furniture?
Usually not. Most mattresses and furniture can be treated. Encasements for mattresses and box springs help too.
Can you treat apartments and rentals?
Yes. In apartments, neighboring units may need inspection too. We work with property managers and landlords.
Will you be discreet?
Yes. Tell us when you book, and we'll keep it low-key.
How do you treat bed bugs?
We use a targeted chemical treatment on mattress seams, bed frames, headboards, furniture joints, cracks and baseboards in the affected rooms, then come back for one follow-up visit.
How should I prepare for bed bug treatment?
We give you a prep checklist before the visit. It covers what to wash and dry, what to bag and what to leave in place so we can reach every hiding spot.
