Prosper, TX Pest Control

Learn how the experts at Around The Block Pest Control promise to protect your property from common pests like cockroaches, rodents & more.

Not long ago, much of Prosper was pasture and farmland. Today it's one of the fastest-growing towns in North Texas. The open land around each new neighborhood is still home to fire ants, scorpions, field mice and crickets, and they don't stop at the property line. Around the Block Pest Control is a family-owne company that has served Collin County since 2012. Our McKinney office is a straight drive west on US 380 to Prosper.

Prosper neighborhoods we serve

  • Windsong Ranch: The Lagoon, ponds and miles of trails are great for families, and for mosquitoes too. Homes next to the open space see field mice and crickets every fall.

  • Star Trail: Newer homes with trail and creek frontage. New sod and fresh landscaping bring fire ants, and stone or brick facades give scorpions places to hide.

  • Gentle Creek Estates: Large custom homes along the golf course, with mature trees and water features. We watch for termites, roof rats and mosquitoes.

  • Light Farms (on the Prosper–Celina line, mostly Prosper ISD): Lakes, trails and active building. This is a hot spot for ant, cricket and rodent activity.

  • Near Frontier Park and downtown Prosper: Ballfields, open grass and some of the town's older homes, with fire ants in the turf and gaps rodents can use in older construction.

Prosper pests by season

Spring. Fire ants rebuild their mounds as soon as the clay dries out after a rain, and termite swarmers appear near patios and slabs. This is a good time for an inspection, even on a new home.

Summer. Scorpions are most active on hot nights. Community ponds and over-watered yards keep mosquitoes busy.

Fall. Field mice leave the pastures that are being cleared for construction. See our fall walk-around for Allen, Plano and Prosper homes to find the gaps they use.

Winter. We seal the entry points so spring's ant and scorpion season starts with fewer pests inside.

Do and don't for Prosper homes next to open fields: brush, open feed bags and a worn garage seal invite field mice, while a clear fence line, sealed bins and a good garage seal keep them out
